Dr. Bridgette Shewmaker-Cochran knew at a young age that helping animals was a love of hers. Partly due to growing up in a family so involved in veterinary medicine, both her father and younger brother are veterinarians. Throughout her career, helping pet parents keep their precious companions healthy has been a true passion. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal biology in 1997, and then received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in 2002. In 2003, Dr. Shewmaker-Cochran took a course at the Chi Institute in mixed animal veterinary acupuncture. She has always had an interest in alternative medicine and integrating it with Western medicine. She has been practicing for over 14 years, with focus in preventive medicine, and is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and Florida Veterinary Medicine Association. Dr. Shewmaker-Cochran enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.
