Dr. Garcia was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She has always loved working and training her family pets as a child, and always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. In 2005, Dr. Garcia graduated from New Mexico State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She earned her veterinary medicine degree at Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2010. Dr. Garcia’s primary interests are in preventive care, animal behavior, and the human animal bond, and she joined Banfield in 2011 in Albuquerque. Dr. Garcia recently moved to Austin with her husband, 2 cats, an Aussie mix, a black lab, and her newest edition, a teacup Yorkie. She is excited for her new adventures here in Texas and looking forward to creating new and lasting memories. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, hiking, movies, and training her dogs to do new tricks.
