Dr. Courtney Slama is an Arizona native. She wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she was a little girl. There were always a variety of pets in the house. She first worked at a horse boarding facility where she got her horse. She then moved into the veterinary world to work as a kennel assistant and technician. She studied veterinary science at the University of Arizona before going to Philadelphia to earn her veterinary medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Slama lives in Tempe and still has her horse as well as a couple of betta fish. Her interests include emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery and preventive care. In her spare time, Dr. Slama enjoys horseback riding, reading, running and hiking.
