    Dr. Navid Salmanzadeh


    Dr. Salmanzadeh is originally from Iran, and received his veterinary degree in 2008 and PhD (DVSc) in animal surgery from the University of Tehran/Iran. He then moved to the U.S. and completed a fellowship and surgical externship in small animal orthopedic surgery at The Ohio State University followed by a post-doctoral in osteoarthritis. He became AVMA certified in early 2017, then moved to Northern Virginia with his wife, and joined the Banfield family the same year. When not in the hospital, Dr. Salmanzadeh enjoys traveling, watching movies, playing soccer and volleyball. In Tehran, he used to live with Tino (a doberman) and Wingi (an injured and abandoned eagle he brought home to take care of). More Details >>

    Dr. Jessica Bussanich


    Dr. Bussanich was born and raised in Vienna, VA. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Louisiana State University for her clinical year and graduated in 2018. Dr. Bussanich earned her Bachelor of Science degree in animal sciences from the University of Delaware. When she is not spending time with her demanding kitties, Split and Nola, she enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, baseball games, and live music.     Practice Manager

    Cate joined the Banfield family in 2007, starting as a Veterinary Assistant and work her way to becoming a Practice Manager. She has worked at many Banfield hospitals over the last 11 years as she is originally from Virginia Beach. She left Banfield briefly to pursue a career in her degree field, criminology, but quickly realized her heart and passion was with animal medicine. She truly believed in our mission at Banfield and was eager to return.     Savannah has been working in the veterinary field as an assistant for a little over a year and recently received a Bachelor of Science degree in organismal biology. She plans to apply to veterinary school this fall.     Veterinary Assistant

    Alissia started with Banfield in June 2018 and helped open up the Fox Mill location in Herndon. She is a certified medical assistant in human medicine in Germany and came to the U.S. in 2011 as an Au Pair. Since then, Alissia got married and lives with her husband, Caleb, and Australian Shepherd, Jaxon, in Herndon.     Amanda Davis

    Veterinary Assistant

    Amanda is from Gloucester, VA and has been working with a variety of animals since she was 14 years old. She worked with the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society from the ages of 15 to 21 and decided she wanted to do more for animals so she shifted her focus to veterinary medicine. For over 2 years she worked at York Veterinary Hospital as an animal care assistant and then decided to go to school for the veterinary technology program at NOVA, graduating in May of 2018 with a veterinary technology degree. Amanda has an 18-year-old cocker spaniel named Skippy, an 8-year-old Jack Russell, and 2 guinea pigs named Drake and Iris. In her free time, she enjoys gaming, doing puzzles, and drawing.     Scarlett transitioned from human medicine to working with Banfield as a Client Service Coordinator in June 2018. Her love of health and animals has made working with Banfield incredibly rewarding, and providing pets with excellent care has become her passion. She plans on enrolling in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program in the spring of 2019.
